A shooting on Saturday evening took the life of a 50-year-old man in the Bayview district.

The victim has been identified as Mark Coats of San Francisco. The shooting happened around 8:10 p.m. on Oakdale Avenue between Baldwin Court and Ingalls Street, as the Examiner reports. The victim was transported to Zuckerberg General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As the Chronicle reports, police have identified the weapon involved as a handgun, but no suspect has been identified or arrested.
