A 28-year-old Brentwood woman is suspected of violently ramming a barber in Antioch with her car after arguing with him over a bad haircut that he gave her son.
Antioch police have identified the suspect at Ruby Delgadillo of Brentwood, as KRON4 reports, and following the Wednesday afternoon altercation, the suspect remains at large. The incident happened outside Delta Barbershop on the 1600 block of A Street in Antioch, near Highway 4, around 3:45 p.m. The search for Delgadillo continues into Thursday morning.
As KPIX reports, the 63-year-old barber had stepped outside his shop to record Delgadillo's license plate after she had caused a scene over the apparently unsatisfactory haircut. She then allegedly rammed him, pushing him through the plate glass windows of the shop, and injuring him. He reportedly sustained major leg injuries, and was found lying inside the shop in a pile of broken glass. The woman's son was reportedly in the car at the time of the alleged attack.
The barber's current condition is not yet known, but he was immediately hospitalized, as the Chronicle reports.
Delgadillo was apparently already known to local authorities because the Antioch Police Department has a mugshot of her, even though she has not yet been arrested in this case.
Police are seeking help locating Delgadillo's vehicle, a blue 2006 Toyota Prius with California license plate 8LHB387.
