One man is dead and another was seriously injured following apparent drug overdoses Friday at the gay bathhouse Steamworks in Berkeley (link NSFW).

Berkeley police were called to the bathhouse by the front desk attendant on Friday afternoon at 12:22 p.m. As the Bay Area Reporter explains, the injured man was taken to the hospital suffering from an apparent overdose, and one man was found already deceased. It is unclear what drug or drugs were involved.

The dead man has been identified as 31-year-old Charles King IV of Sacramento. His exact cause of death remains under investigation.

Newsflare strangely has video of the deceased man being removed from the building and loaded into the coroner's van.

Steamworks declined multiple requests by the BAR for comment.

Steamworks is one of just two gay bathhouses in the Bay Area, and the only one that provides rentable, private rooms. (Eros in the Castro district has only communal areas.) On the Steamworks website, the business has posted a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol on the premises.
