- A hit-and-run crash on northbound 101 in San Francisco shut down lanes and caused traffic delays most of Thursday. A heavy-duty truck that has not been located crashed into a guardrail just north of the split between 101 and I-80, causing concrete to fall down on the area of 10th and Bryant, damaging some cars. - The Mountain Fire near Redding has forced evacuation and is threatening about 1,000 homes. The fire has so far burned 600 acres. [Chronicle]
- California may be joining other states in allowing 17-year-olds to vote. An amendment to the state constitution is working its way through Sacramento which would let 17-year-olds vote in primary and special elections if they will turn 18 before the next general election. [KRON 4]
