  • BBQ lovers who've been around the Bay for a while will likely remember Flint's in Oakland, and it's coming back. A Flint's BBQ pop-up, run by Crystal Martin, the granddaughter of one of the original owners, Willie Flintroy, is happening August 4 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in West Oakland, and Martin plans more pop-ups and a food truck.   • The U.S. Bureau of Land Management wants Burning Man to cap its attendance where it was last year, at 80,000. Burning Man organizers wanted to raise the limit to 100,000 over the next ten years, and BLM is sayin no. [Associated Press]
  • BART just approved a $50 million contract for a consultant to begin planning for a possible second transbay crossing. The project is still way, way off, but the ten-year contract at least gets the ball rolling. [Examiner]
  • As of September, BART's new train cars will start getting constructed locally, at a plant in Pittsburg, instead of across the country in Plattsburgh, New York. The plant currently being operated by Breda Transportation to build trains for Honolulu will be transferred over to Bombardier to make BART's 'Fleet of the Future.' [Streetsblog]
