A skateboarder died Tuesday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of 7th and Mission streets.
An SFPD alert went out to avoid the area at 12:47 p.m., and CBS SF reports that the incident happened at 12:16 p.m. The intersection remained closed Tuesday afternoon for an investigation.

As SFGate and others note, this fatality occurred just a couple of blocks from where a 30-year-old cyclist was killed in a collision with a truck last month.
Update: Hoodline reports via a police officer at the scene that the victim was 25 years old, and he collided not with the dump truck, as was previously understood, but with another vehicle. Apparently the skateboarder was using the dump truck to tow himself behind, heading north on Seventh Street, and subsequently rolled under another vehicle.
