Many San Franciscans — but in particular those SoMa and Mission Bay residents near the ballpark who weren't out until last call — were jolted out of bed by the explosions of fireworks at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

Those who made it to bed Friday night at a reasonable hour, whether they were paying attention to the Giants' neverending overtime game with the Rockies, likely did not expect that firworks night would go on as usual despite the extremely late end time for the game.

On the plus side, with its deep bullpen, the Giants managed to eke out a 3-2 win aftare 18 grueling innings — the game was tied 2-2 for 13 innings. Brandon Belt managed to make the winning run off a grounder by Erik Kratz. But then somebody made the call to start shooting off fireworks when the game finally ended right around 1 a.m. and who was even at Oracle Park to see them?? Just the players?

The Giants weren't even trying to apologize about it.

As CBS SF and all of Twitter report, plenty of neighbors were pissed.
