San Francisco's Department of Public Health issued a warning Tuesday about possible exposure to measles from an infected person who was visiting the city last week — and the person spent time in Hayes Valley and rode public transportation.
The infected individual traveled here from Santa Clara County, and all we know is that he or she was not hospitalized and is recovering from the virus at home, according to NBC Bay Area.
Health officials say that this case is not connected to any of the other cases recently reported around the Bay Area, including one in which an infected person flew on an international flight that landed at SFO and gave the disease to two other people — one living in San Francisco and one in Santa Clara.
Below are the locations, dates, and times that this most recently infected individual was in San Francisco between April 1 and April 3. Out of an abundance of caution, those who might be susceptible to infection and who may have been in any of these places at these times should be on the lookout for measles symptoms. Those who are of most concerned are unvaccinated children, unvaccinated adults born in 1957 or later, and those with severely weakened immune systems.
The individual was apparently spending the workdays of last Monday to Wednesday at the Federal Building on Golden Gate Avenue.
