Another spring closure to rack up, this time in Pac Heights: Elite Cafe is shutting its doors in two weeks after 38 years of boozy brunches and New Orleans-style fare.

The venerable, huge old restaurant with its curtained booths and marble bar, will be passing on to new owners and a new concept as its owner of three years, Andy Chun of Sidecar Hospitality (Schroeder’s, Press Club) has put the place on the market.

As Eater reports, Chun cites the dwindling nightlife crowd on upper Fillmore as impacting the restaurant's all-important bar revenue. And the revamp he and Sidecar gave the place three years ago didn't do enough to revive interest in the place.

The space has been a continually operating restaurant since 1919, and has been Elite since 1981.

Elite Cafe's final day will be April 21, Easter Sunday.
