A confrontation between two women ended in gunfire late Wednesday, and police say the shooter in question remains at large.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 26-year-old female victim was "involved in an argument" with another woman at 10:45 Wednesday night on the 2100 block of Jennings Street, which runs between Third Street and the Bay.

The verbal argument turned physical, and the two began "wrestling," police say. That's when the suspect shot the victim, leaving her with injuries police say are life-threatening. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police say.

The suspect apparently managed to evade capture, as police say no arrests were made in the case. As of Thursday morning, police did not provide any additional information on the shooting, including details on the suspect or the source of the argument.
