A dog that somehow got down onto the BART tracks at Coliseum Station Wednesday morning caused some major rush-hour delays. BART first reported the canine obstruction at 8:09 a.m., and proceeded to post a series of tweets warning of delays on the Fremont line as BART police tried, and failed, to get the dog on a leash and off the tracks.
Still working to get that dog near Coliseum. We have major delays on the Fremont line. And no we are not going to run over the dog.

The dog keeps running off. We are going to run an inspection train at slow speed to see where the dog is and if we can get trains moving.

Thankfully, as of 9 a.m., the dog was captured and taken into custody, and no one was hurt. But this prompted some jokes like the one below about a "ruff morning."
After 45 mins the dog has been rescued at Fruitvale BART! What a ruff morning! @SFBART @SFBARTalert pic.twitter.com/T8AWvRahKI
