The baby that is soon going to be San Francisco royalty has arrived, and it's a girl. Tennis star Serena Williams and Reddit founder fiancé Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first born on Friday at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, as the New York Daily News reports. Ohanian says he plans to take six weeks of paternity leave to be with his new daughter and soon-to-be wife — and at some point Williams will be relocating, at least part time, to San Francisco, as she confirmed last month.

Local station CBS 12 reported that Williams was induced on Thursday night, after checking into the hospital Wednesday. Apparently they cleared a whole floor for her, and there was heavy security.

As People reports, sister Venus Williams was just stepping off the court at her US Open match in New York Friday when she got the news, and she said, "Obviously I’m super excited. Words can’t describe."

Serena's coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, offered his congratulations on Twitter, and made reference to the "work" they'll have to do to get ready for the Australian Open in January — when Serena plans to make her comeback to defend her title there. She last played the Australian Open this past winter, shortly after finding out she was pregnant.
