Early this morning, Oakland CHP officers spotted a deer possibly a young male, see the small antlers in the roadway on the eastern span of the Bay Bridge. Mistaking it for a doe, they got punny, as you can see in the tweet below. "This morning our officers stopped a doe for toll evasion, on the Bay Bridge. She said she usually pays it, but today she was a buck short."
Officers assure KRON 4 that this is a pretty rare occurrence, and they think this deer wandered onto the bridge from Treasure Island.
It's unclear how the officers coaxed the animal to safety. But presumably it was taken care of long before this photo was posted, during the morning rush hour, at 8:27 a.m.
Also, remember this duo of deer on the Golden Gate Bridge a couple years back?
