A motorcyclist who slammed into a turning truck was killed Wednesday, and his passenger was left with serious injuries.

Police say that the collision occurred at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of Laguna Street and Geary Boulevard.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 49-year-old male driver of a truck headed west on Geary was turning onto Laguna when a 29-year-old male motorcyclist "broadsided" the truck.

The motorcyclist "succumbed to his injuries on scene," police say. The motorcycle's passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the SFPD.

Police say that the truck driver was not injured in the crash and is cooperating with the investigation. As of publication time, further details on who is believeed to be at fault in the collision were not available.
