Did you know it was World Emoji Day? Neither did I! Anyway, in honor of this non-holiday, Apple just previewed a gaggle of fun new emoji that will be part of iOS 11, being released this fall. These include, in no particular order, a headscarfed woman, a bearded man, a zebra, a genie, a breastfeeding woman, a meditating man, and the all-important, exploding head smiley.
You may recall that 72 emoji came along with the last major iOS update last fall, including Facepalm and Salad.
This new update group also comes with a couple that maybe someone out there has been asking for? Like T-Rex? And and elf.
The company issued a statement saying, "More animals and mythical creatures like T rex, zebra, zombie and elf are a fun way to describe situations and new Star-Struck and Exploding Head smiley faces make any message more fun."
