Late Night SF Altercation Leaves Man Fighting For Life

A late-night argument in Visitacion Valley ended in tragedy Thursday, when a man suffered life-threatening wounds as the dispute turned violent.

Police say that the incident went down at around 11:31 Thursday night, on the 500 block of Campbell Avenue.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 35-year-old man was engaged in an argument with a 59-year-old man. According to the younger man, the older man "came at him with a weapon." In an apparent effort to defend himself, the 35-year-old then shot the 59-year-old, the former told police.

The man who was shot was transported to the hospital with injuries police say are life threatening. The shooter was arrested, police say, and the gun "was recovered" by officers with SFPD's Ingleside Station.
