The future has arrived. Amazon has begun to design towers to house their delivery drones.

We're all mere steps away from having groceries, drugs, and vegan Thai food delivered by drones. Seattle-based online retailer Amazon is gearing up for that day by patenting goofy, retro-looking designs for "multi-level fulfillment center[s]" designed to "accommodate landing and takeoff of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), possibly in an urban setting, such as in a densely populated area."

Look at this ugliness as reported by Consumerist. Did they not have computers available for renderings? Are these drawn with a Bic Ballpoint Pen, available for purchase in packages of 10 on Amazon for $5.02?

The proposed drone towers of the future would not only serve as fulfillment loading, take-off, and landing locations for the drones, but as a self-service space where customers could pick up orders from storage lockers.

Clearly these designs are a long way from reality, as there's not yet a plan in place for drones zipping willy-nilly all over America's skies and also, Amazon needs to download TurboCAD Designer 2017 for $49.99, currently in stock.
