A man was rushed to the hospital Sunday, after an early-morning shooting left him injured.

Police say that the 31-year-old victim was shot on the 1500 block of Folsom Street, which is between 11th and 12th Streets, at 2:04 a.m. Sunday.

That's an area that's well-known as home to numerous bars and nightclubs, all of which close just moments before the shooting, at 2 a.m.

The San Francisco Police Department reports that the shooting victim was leaving one such area "business with a group" when "an argument ensued."

During the argument, police say that a suspect believed to be in his late 20s fired a shot, striking the victim. The wounded man was subsequently transported to San Francisco General Hospital, for injuries police say are not life-threatening.

The suspect apparently made a successful escape from the scene, as police say that as of Monday morning he had not been arrested. No additional suspect information was available, police say, nor was the nature of the argument immediately known.
