A woman who allegedly attempted to strangle another woman was arrested Saturday, following an afternoon altercation on 13th Street.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 45-year-old female suspect was engaged in an argument with the 32-year-old female victim on the 200 block of 13th Street, which is between Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue.

As the dispute escalated, the older woman "strangled" the younger, police say.

Responding officers broke up the alteration and arrested the older woman, according to the SFPD. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries in the attack, and is expected to recover.
