House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Bay Area politicians have responded to this morning's shooting at a baseball diamond outside Washington, DC that involved several Republican members of Congress. Among those injured was House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise, and we've since learned that the suspected shooter, James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, was apparently a Bernie Sanders supporter and fervent critic of the Republican party.
Below, some reactions from local leaders. Pelosi also addressed the House Wednesday morning in the wake of the shooting.
On days like today, there are no Democrats or Republicans, only Americans united in our thoughts for the wounded. https://t.co/HcsiRCcFiP
