A group of deceitful thieves robbed a man in San Francisco Sunday evening, luring him from his home then attacking him on the street.

Police say that the crime occurred at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, on the 200 block of Red Rock Way in SF's Diamond Heights neighborhood.

The San Francisco Police Department says that the 42-year-old male victim was at home when two men — one believed to be in his late 20s, the other in his 30s — knocked on his door.

When he answered, the men said that they had struck a parked vehicle outside the residence. The victim left his house to check the allegedly crunched car, and that's when the duo became a trio, as a third man appeared and all three began to assault the victim.

During the attack, the victim "dropped his cell phone and keys," police say. The suspects grabbed those items and fled, according to the SFPD.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, for treatment of injuries police say are not life-threatening. His attackers remain at large, police say, and as of publication time no arrests had been made in the case.
