Airing during the NBA Finals is this pretty Apple ad, "shot on iPhone" by regular iPhone users, and written and narrated by Carl Sagan. "The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life," Sagan says. "There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand."

The text actually comes from Sagan's 1994 book, Pale Blue Dot — A Vision of the Human Future in Space, as AdWeek notes, and the ad appears to be the company's quick response to last week's decision by President Trump to pull out of the Paris climate accord.

As The Verge notes, Apple CEO personally called the President to urge him not to pull out of the pact, and he made public statements both to employees and to Bloomberg condemning Trump's decision.
