The mystery deepens a bit in the disappearance of Piseth Chhay as a vehicle belonging to a man the SFPD had called in for questioning, who has since disappeared, was found Thursday in an SFO parking lot. As the Chronicle reports, the discovery of the car only strengthens investigators' belief that Bob Tang, a.k.a. Bob Tov, a longtime friend of Chhay's, has fled to his come country of Cambodia.

As discussed yesterday, Tang was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, May 24, one day after he was scheduled to be interviewed by the SFPD. He left home on Monday, according to the family, responding to a call from a security company about an alarm at a property he owns in Antioch — likely the same property where the SFPD executed a search warrant, possibly also on Monday.

ABC 7 spoke to a friend or family member at Tang's residence on Thursday, following the discovery of his car, who said that his wife is "just crying a lot and she cannot eat." They also spoke again with Chhay's wife, Rattana Kim, who said that Tang was "like a family member," and that she had not yet spoken with Tang's wife since this ordeal began.

Kim spoke further with NBC Bay Area saying that her sons called Tang "Uncle Bob," and adding, "Why is it someone who we consider a brother or a uncle? Why would he do that, especially when you have your own family, two sons of your own?"

Chhay, a father of two, drove full time for Uber but was not working on Sunday, May 14, and as ABC 7 now confirms, he was heading to Tang's house to see his friend before he went missing. Police believe Tang was the last person to see Chhay and “may have knowledge of his whereabouts." As of this week, investigators believe foul play is likely involved.

Chhay's car was found last weekend, stripped and dumped on a dead-end street in the Bayview, not far from where Tang operated a business, and where police executed a search warrant as well.

It's unclear now how the investigation will proceed, however the FBI is likely already involved in trying to determine Tang's whereabouts overseas.
