BART police are seeking a man wearing a security company uniform who allegedly launched into a verbal assault and physical attack on a man waiting at a San Francisco BART station.

KRON 4 reports that the incident went down at 11:23 Monday night, when a man described as African-American, "5’08” tall, 135 pounds, and wearing a black security uniform with a silver badge on the right side" walked up to a man standing on the platform at BART's Powell Street Station.

The approaching man then "shouted homophobic slurs" at the waiting man, then "punched him in the face," the Chron reports.

The victim headed to a station agent booth in an effort to report the crime, as the suspect fled onto a Pittsburg/Bay Point bound train.

BART police say that the train they believe suspect boarded was stopped at the MacArthur BART station in Oakland, but they were unable to locate him.
