A brazen afternoon shooting claimed the life of a man in San Francisco Friday, the city's eighth homicide for 2017.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 29-year-old victim was gunned down on the first block of Westbrook Court in Bayview-Hunters Point at 1:46 p.m. Friday.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, police say, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The SFPD had few details on the crime to offer Monday morning, saying that the suspect description, any possible vehicle transporting the suspect, and the type of gun used in the slaying were all "unknown." They did conform, however, that no arrests have been made in the case.
This is San Francisco's eighth homicide for 2017, following the fatal shooting of Preston Bradford near City Hall less than ten days before. The suspect in that slaying was arrested the day of the incident, and remains SF County Jail on suspicion of murder.
