An argument on a quiet stretch in the Outer Richmond turned violent Wednesday morning, when a man was attacked with a machete.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the confrontation went down at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of 47th Avenue and Cabrillo Street, just blocks from Ocean Beach.
Police say that the 54-year-old male victim was arguing with another man in his 20s. Suddenly, the suspect approached the victim from behind, "and struck [the victim] in upper part of his body with a machete," according to the SFPD.
The suspect fled on the scene foot in an unknown direction, police say. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which police say are not life-threatening.
As of Thursday morning, the suspect remains at large. According to the SFPD, no arrests have been made in this case.
