Two women walking near San Francsico's Yerba Buena Gardens were injured Saturday, when a man ripped a camera from their grasp.

According to the San Francsico Police Department, a 57-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman were walking near Howard and Third Streets at 3:15 p.m. Saturday when the crime occurred.

A man believed to be in his late 20s approached the woman, police say, and tried to pull the camera from the older woman's neck.

She fell to the ground, police say. When the second woman attempted to intervene, she was thrown to the ground, as well.

The suspect fled on foot, police say, camera in hand. The first woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries, which police say are not life-threatening. The second woman had minor injuries, but refused treatment, police say.

As of Monday morning, the thief remains at large, according to the SFPD, and no arrests have been made in this case.
