An update in the strange case of the 53-year-old woman who was found dead sitting upright in the back of a Muni bus at the end of its line last week. KRON 4 has learned via her brother, David Robson, that Laura Robson's cause of death was not, in fact, meningitis as was feared.

The scare went out about Robson's case over the weekend and seems to have been spurred by a meningitis scare in Marin County where one man, since identified as 48-year-old Sevin Phillips of San Rafael, died from a meningitis infection. His habit of frequenting the SoulCycle gym in Larkspur led to some 300 users of the gym being contacted about seeking prophylactic antibiotics, due to their potential contact with Phillips in a gym setting.

Also, Robson's brother reported that she had been suffering from a fever and severe headache the weekend before she died, however she didn't have the telltale symptom of a stiff neck.

Robson's cause of death is not yet known, however lab tests during her preliminary autopsy came back negative for meningitis.
