An early-morning altercation at the Civic Center BART station in San Francisco left a man injured Thursday, after he was shoved down the stairs and stabbed.
Police say that the attack went down at around 4 a.m. Thursday, as a 26-year-old man walked on the BART station stairs on the 1200 block of Market Street, which is between Hyde and Grove Streets.
Police say that a man in his 40s blocked the younger man's passage, then pushed him down the stairs. Following the victim to the base of the incline, the shover stabbed the man "multiple times," police say, then fled.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, police say, and is in stable condition. The suspect remains at large, and as of publication time no arrests have been made.
