A man who has apparently made a habit of troublesome behavior struck again Tuesday, stealing a stack of lottery tickets then running off into the night.
The heist went down at a store on the 100 block of Pine Street, which is between Battery and Front Streets. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 50-something man walked into the business at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday and demanded multiple tickets for the California Lottery.
The 37-year-old store staffer recognized the suspect from previous interactions, police say, and moved toward the front door in an effort to usher the man out. Instead, the suspect ripped the lottery tickets from a second employee's hands, then rushed toward the first employee and slapped him in the face, according to the SFPD.
The store employee was left with injuries to his lip, but he declined transport to the hospital. The suspect fled on foot and remains at large...at least, until he goes to claim any winnings generated from his stolen bounty.
