As winds swept the stage last night during a stormy Treasure Island Music Festival, James Blake, the understated British crooner whose soulful voice has made him a sensation, was one of several acts kept from performing. His set, specifically, was put off due to gale-force winds.
"We were heartbroken to have to cancel James Blake last night due to weather, and are hoping to make it up to you this evening," spokesperson Trey Hicks writes on behalf of the festival. The venue is the Fox in Oakland, whose promoter is Treasure Island Music Festival co-organizer Another Planet Entertainment, and it's free to Treasure Island ticket holders, or $25 for those who just want to see Blake. There's more show info on the show here, and needless to say, it will be plenty dry and cozy in the beautiful art deco Fox.
We're really sorry but our show's been cancelled 🌧💨. Arranging a show for tomorrow somewhere in SF - watch this space 🕵🏼
