A man enjoying an early-morning visit to North Beach's storied Washington Square Park had his reverie brutally interrupted Sunday, when an armed man robbed him as he sat.

According to the San Francsico Police Department, the 23-year-old victim was seated in the park near the intersection of Union and Stockton Streets when, at around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, a suspect is his early 20s walked toward him.

Police say that the suspect "approached [the victim] and asked...what he was doing in the park."

Apparently, the victim's answer wasn't a satisfactory one, as the suspect "then pulled up his shirt to reveal a handgun" and demanded the seated man's possessions.

The victim handed over his cell phone, wallet, and keys, and the robber "then ran away," police say. He has not been seen since, and police confirm that no arrests have been made in this case.
