Salesforce's answer to Oracle's Openworld conference, which itself recently shut down/effed up traffic in part of SoMa as it annually does, happens all this week, and given all the rest of the construction projects already messing up traffic in the neighborhood, you can expect Dreamforce to make underground and foot transit your best options this week.
As many as 170,000 people are expected to attend the annual conference, in which people from around the country who use Salesforce's software products convince their bosses to let them spend a week in San Francisco on their companies' dime.
Also, it's Fleet Week, which means a whole bunch of tourists coming in from the suburbs starting Friday with Blue Angels airshows all weekend at noon.
As the Chronicle details, Dreamforce will be shutting down Howard Street in the Moscone vicinity, between Third and Fourth Streets, today through Sunday even though the conventioneers will be mostly filtering out after Thursday, when the big event ends.

And, if you're planning to be near the Cow Palace Wednesday, you may want to rethink that the whole convention moves there for the big gala concert event, which this year features U2. That starts at 7 p.m., and it's technically a benefit for UCSF Children's Hospitals.
