Actress and comedian Jane Lynch, best known for her role as Sue Sylvester on Glee but also as host of Hollywood Game Night and for a recent Broadway appearance as Miss Hannigan in Annie, will be bringing a brand new holiday show to San Francisco for a limited three-night run that her fans won't want to miss. According to a release today, she'll be performing her "Swingin’ Little Christmas," on the intimate stage of Feinstein’s at the Nikko on December 8, 9, and 10, and tickets are available now, and start at $90.
Lynch is a vet of The Second City and Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, and her role on Glee earned her both an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award. She was also host of the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and other TV credits include the STARZ series Party Down, Desperate Housewives, Weeds, and the final season of The L Word.
Lynch's film credits the upcoming film A.C.O.D, as well as Julie & Julia, and the Christopher Guest films For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind and Best in Show.
Described as "not your typical holiday show," "Swingin' Little Christmas" will feature Lynch accompanied by a five-piece band for "a joyous and festive evening of traditional holiday songs... [featuring] guests Kate Flannery of The Office, who plays Lynch’s mischievous vocal partner, and Tim Davis, Glee’s former vocal arranger."
Other upcoming Feinstein's events that should be of note to musical theater nerds especially: Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, two of the original stars of Rent on Broadway, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the smash hit musical on October 27, 28, and 29; grande dame and recent Kennedy Center honoree Betty Buckley on October 21 and 22; and recent star of Pippin (and television royalty) Lucie Arnaz on September 16 and 17, and Tony-winning Pippin lead player Patina Miller on October 15 and 16.
