A body was discovered in the downtown Westfield Centre mall today, and Bay City News reports that the medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide.

Police have declined to say exactly where in the popular shopping center the body was discovered, but SFPD spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan confirmed that the body was found in the mall itself, not outside like a homicide case from last October. Police first received a call about the body at 10:15 a.m this morning.

No other details surrounding the death are known at this time.

This news comes shortly on the heels of a report this morning that crime rates, excluding homicides, have dropped this year.

This marks the 31st San Francisco homicide of 2016.
