A 10-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon, after he allegedly ran in front of a Muni bus and was struck.

The collision occurred at 5:01 yesterday afternoon, on Market Street neat Seventh Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department, when a 2015 Muni bus driver by its 34-year-old operator was "driving westbound on Market Street, with a green signal."

The 10-year-old kid "ran northbound across Market Street from the southwest Muni platform," police say, "and was struck with the Muni coach's front end."

The child was transported to San Francisco General Hospital in stable condition, police say. According to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, per policy in cases of collision, the driver has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of drug and alcohol tests.
