Warriors' Draymond Green Arrested In Michigan On Assault Charges

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on Sunday at around 2:30 a.m. in East Lansing, Michigan, the town where he rose to prominence as a college basketball star.

MLive first reported the incident, and in further coverage add that Green was arrested on assault and battery charges, the maximum penalty for which would be a $500 fine and/or 90 days jail time. The were no injuries that resulted from the assault, which occurred at a restaurant called Conrad's Grill. Green was released on a bond of $200 bond and will be arraigned on July 20.

Over the course of otherwise stellar season, some of Green's fouls stand out: His groin kick of Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams, which led to a fine, and his similar maneuver against LeBron James in the NBA Finals, which led to a suspension.

The Chronicle's Evan Sernoffsky says he has the dirt, which is this:

“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend," a release from the team read. "At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
