The San Francisco Police Department is investigating a Memorial Day homicide today, after a woman was shot dead in the Mission District.

Details remain scarce, but here's what we know: At 2:54 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the intersection of 18th and Alabama Streets.

When they arrived, they discovered a 27-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Though she was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, she was pronounced dead on arrival. The San Francisco Medical Examiner's office has since identified her as Richmond resident Tiara Williamson.

According to SFPD's report, the male suspect in the shooting occupied a "light colored sedan." As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made, and no further details were available on the case.
