  • A 13-year-old girl was rescued yesterday after a wave knocked her over at Ocean Beach. [KRON4] [CBS 5]
  • Bernie Sanders swung through Emeryville this morning and then hit up Santa Cruz. He was in Oakland yesterday. [ABC 7] [CBS 5] [SFist]
  • A new species of coral was just found growing off the Farallones. [Chronicle]
  • A fish closely related to Piranhas was found in a Petaluma pond. It has "human-like teeth," and definitely should not have been there. [CBS 5]
  • Plans to raze a Sunset flower stand and build a four-story building have stalled. [Socketsite]
  • A fire this afternoon in Visitacion Valley critically injured one man. At this point it is not known what caused the blaze. [CBS 5]
  • Investigators are trying to figure out the timeline surrounding the disappearance of 15-year-old Pearl Pinson, and are asking for the public's help. The search for Pinson has been called off. [CBS 5] [SFist]

Mayor Ups Proposed Budget To $9.6 Billion With Emphasis On Cleanliness, Homelessness Spending

For the fiscal year starting on July 1, Mayor Lee has proposed that San Francisco's budget increase, mostly on the back of property taxes, by around $700 million to reach $9.6 billion.
