CBS 5 brings us the touching tale of Ollie, a dog who was adopted by a US Army unit in Iraq as a puppy and became their beloved mascot. When former Army Specialist Ken Wyrsch found out that his unit, which was fighting alongside a Kurdish military outfit, was being disbanded and the camp shut down, he didn't want to leave his pal Ollie behind to potentially face abuse or other harsh treatment in that country.
So, with the help of SPCA International and what Wyrsch says was "thousands of dollars" of donations, Ollie was rescued, flown to SFO, and was happily reunited with Wyrsch last week, as you can see in the video above.
