An elderly man was killed yesterday, after a motorcyclist struck him as he walked in a San Francisco crosswalk.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 78-year-old man was in a crosswalk near where Brotherhood Way and Junipero Serra Boulevard meet at 10:25 Tuesday evening, when a 47-year-old man riding an "electric motorcycle" struck him.

The pedestrian, police say, died at the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, which police say are not life-threatening.

A call to SFPD for additional details on the collision and its location, to answer questions on the nature of the vehicle, and on if any citations were issued was not returned at publication time. If and when they do respond, I'll add that information to this report.
