On Friday, April 8, the body of a missing woman was found in San Francisco. Details about the victim, Nicole Fitts, are slim, and the SFPD, citing the sensitivity of its ongoing investigation, has not revealed her age or her permanent residence, saying only in a release that she and her two-year-old daughter Arianna were "reported to frequent San Francisco, San Mateo, Oakland, Emeryville, Fresno, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley areas as well as places in Southern California." But the department is now most concerned with finding two-year-old Arianna, who is now missing and considered at risk.

Arianna has not been seen, perhaps by relatives, since late February. Nicole was last seen on April 1, and was reported missing on April 5.

Where her body was found and how she died has not been revealed by police.

Photos of the missing girl are above, and the SFPD held an emergency press conference Saturday night to ask for the public's help in finding Arianna or offering information about the killing of her mother.

Per the SFPD:

If you see Arianna, call 911 immediately. If you have information on Arianna’s whereabouts or anything related to the homicide of Nicole we encourage you to contact the SFPD Homicide Unit at 415-553-1145, the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575- 4444, or text a tip to TIP 411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.

Update: The Chronicle has it that Nicole Fitts had lived in the Bay Area for ten years, and most recently had been an employee at the Best Buy store on Harrison Street. Also, fits has a second daughter who is 12 years old.
