A 54-year-old man was knocked to the ground and is now suffering life-threatening injuries after he was attacked Monday afternoon by a group of ne'er-do-well youths. This all happened, as KRON 4 reports, on 15th Street between Dolores and Guerrero at about 1:30 p.m.

According to Mission Local, it was a group of seven to 10 boys who were involved, and who started an argument with the man outside his home. Reportedly, the man tried to get back through the gate to his apartment building, and one the boys punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

It's unclear what the argument was about, or if robbery was a motive.

He was knocked unconscious and is suffering severe head trauma.

The suspects, who are only described as being between 15 and 18 years old, remain at large.
