Today SHN announced their full regular season of shows, following their earlier announcement in January that Hamilton would be part of the 2016-2017 season along with the Tony Award-winning play The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Nighttime. Joining those two productions will be the Tony-winning revival of The King And I, opening November 15; Broadway hit Finding Neverland, directed by Diane Paulus opening January 18; and the much acclaimed, stripped-down, off-Broadway production of Into the Woods by Fiasco Theater, coming March 7.

Also, excitingly, though San Francisco has not gotten a ton of pre-Broadway tryouts in recent years, Roman Holiday - The Cole Porter Musical, co-written and produced by Paul Blake, one of the guys behind Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, which also had its premiere in SF in 2013 before a hit Broadway run that's still ongoing.

As Variety reports, Roman Holiday is a stage adaptation of the beloved 1953 film starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck that incorporates familiar Cole Porter tunes like "Night and Day" and "Easy to Love" into the story of a young princess who, with the help of an American reporter, breaks free from the strictures of royalty and spends 24 hours experiencing the magic of Rome as a civilian. Roman Holiday will begin performances at the Golden Gate Theater on May 24, 2017 before heading to Broadway in the fall of next year.

The Fiasco Theater production of Sondheim's beloved, recently movie-adapted Into The Woods played at New York's Roundabout Theater in 2015 and won a rave from New York Times critic Ben Brantley who called it "truly enchanting," and one that "reveals the aching, hopeful heart beneath the artifice" of the original musical. (E.g. A human man plays The Cow, just wearing a cowbell and no other costume; the Wolf is depicted using a taxidermy head mounted on a board.)

Below, the SHN 2016-2017 subscriber season schedule as it stands (expect a few more shows to fill in some gaps, including holiday-season fare, returning tours, etc.). Subscribers can buy season tickets here, with full season balcony seating for all six shows, on weeknights, starting at $245.
