The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch advisory for San Francisco effective now through Sunday, so watch the hell out, okay?

Heavy rains are rolling in with KRON4 calling for five days of storms ahead. Those will last through Monday on the backs of winds gusting at 15 to 25 and even 35 miles per hour, netting three or so inches of precipitation. That means that, in the low-lying Mission District for example, the Public Utilities Commission will deploy more than 400 feet of interlocking, water-tight flood barriers. And for the preppers among us, keep in mind that city residents may avail themselves of up to 10 free sandbags per person. You can pick those up at 2323 Cesar Chavez Street (at the Marin/Kansas street gate) anytime Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PG&E is reportedly preparing for power outages, monitoring inclement weather and placing crews on standby. ABC7 also notes that a flood advisory is in effect for the North Bay.

As part of its response, the San Francisco Human Services Agency (HSA) is adding shelter beds, some at Pier 80, where many homeless San Franciscans were sent from Division Street's tent encampments.
