The San Francisco Police Department is seeking the driver of a grey sedan, after he or she sped off after striking a pedestrian in a Mission Street crosswalk.

At 1:32 this morning, a 38-year-old man was crossing Mission Street at 10th Street, SFPD spokesperson Officer Albie Esparza says.

The pedestrian, who was headed north on 10th as he walked inside the crosswalk, was then struck by the driver of a grey sedan traveling west on Mission, Esparza says.

The driver didn't stop following the collision, Esparza says, and took off down 10th instead. He or she hasn't been seen since.

The injured pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He suffered a "laceration to the head" and his finger was "almost severed," Esparza says.
