A Muni M-line light rail train derailed Friday morning at 19th and Holloway Avenues, disrupting service on the line as of 6:20 a.m. Twitterer Dustin Allen tweeted the photo above of crews in the process of assessing the situation, and as the Examiner reports, the derailment is near the SF State campus.
Six passengers were onboard at the time, and no one was injured.
It's unclear how this occurred, and the Chronicle reports that the Muni stop will remain closed until the train can be, uh, re-railed.
SFMTA spokesman Paul Rose says, "We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to clear the scene as soon as possible." Riders are encouraged to use the nearby K/T line instead, and M service to West Portal is being replaced with buses this morning.
This is the first incident of a Muni derailment in recent memory since 2013.
