Hundreds convened at Super Bowl City on Saturday to protest the shooting of Mario Woods, who was killed by police on Dec. 2. This particular protest kicks off a week of various actions that aim to refocus some of the eyes that are on San Francisco for Super Bowl 50 next weekend on some of the social issues that effect the city.
S.F. Gate reports that the protestors met at Union Square and marched to the "fan village"—known as Super Bowl City— at Market Street and the Embarcadero, that opened this morning. Phelicia Jones, one of the leaders of the Justice 4 Mario Woods coalition told the crowd, "This is a peaceful protest. We're not here to break windows ...we are here to educate the public."
Protestors called for the firing of SFPD chief Greg Suhr, and demanded the officers involved in the shooting be charged with murder, and that an independent investigation held.
S.F. Chronicle reporter Hamed Aleaziz was on the scene, and caught some video:

It appears Washington and Embarcadero is the final spot for the protestors. No entrance to Super Bowl City. pic.twitter.com/VA3dNpqL6b
