Sharing a stadium or venue is hardly new, and currently it's the somewhat modest proposal from the content generators at the Tribune News Service in a story run by the Examiner: "Raiders should move to…Levi’s!"

Yes, in the past the Raiders have said it wasn't an option. As Niners Nation describes it, the best case scenario would resemble the custody arrangement that the Jets and the Giants have.

But Raiders owner Mark Davis, they observe, "said the commute from Oakland to Santa Clara would take about as long as it would take him to fly to Los Angeles."

They do have a plane... but it was still a "no."

"If we're going to move the team," Davis reportedly said, "let's get something that's going to be for the Raiders."

But that was then, and this is now. Quoting from the article in the Examiner:

[As] the Raiders recover from the NFL’s decision approving the St. Louis Rams’ return to Los Angeles and dismissing a Chargers-Raiders marriage in Carson, owner Mark Davis should take a long look at the tea leaves and then turn over a new leaf. This is a reality check.

That would mean that the "great escape — the most realistic alternative for the Raiders’ owner — is that train to Santa Clara. Yes, Levi’s Stadium...Hate it. Love it. But share it with the 49ers."

Now, the Raiders have an opportunity to set an innovative example here. Add to this debate the fact that no one is going to Levi's Stadium and you have a double-incentive. Sharing doesn't sound great — who would do that? why? — but when you add "economy" to it, it's instantly awesome. Let's call it Uberpool but for Stadiums. Airbnb but for professional sports teams. Let's get funding! I expect term sheets tomorrow.
