Police arrested a man early Tuesday morning after observing him set at least two fires, and walk away from a third. The target of the alleged arsonist's fury? Fun and Christmas, apparently, as in addition to lighting part of the SoMa West Skate Park on fire the man allegedly set fire to a Christmas tree.

The man, who police have identified as 42-year-old Jesse Driggs, was initially spotted walking away from a blaze at the skate park around 2:30 Tuesday morning, reports Mission Local. While being observed by a police officer, Driggs lit a Christmas tree and another object on fire, they say.

The San Francisco Fire Department was called to extinguish the flames, and thankfully no one was injured.

As to Driggs' potential motive, at this time we can only speculate. The police booked him on charges of arson as well as possessing narcotics paraphernalia, which may or may not provide a clue into any alleged late-night fire-setting mindset.
